Impact Patch "Rombo Rojo" (Mexico)
Impact Patch "Rombo Rojo"
This patch is handmade by women artisans from the cooperative "Jolom Mayaetik" in San Cristobal de Las Casas, Mexico. They use ancestral slow-textile techniques they pass on from generation to generation.
The weavers weave colorful cotton threads weft by weft with their backstrap loom and at the same time embroider them. This technique is called "brocade technique" in Mexico.
For a patch, the weavers need around 15 hours spread over several weeks.
Hints:
- Each patch is a handmade unique piece. The pattern may therefore differ slightly from the one shown here.
- This patch is slightly thicker, so it is better suited for children aged 6 months and older who are worn in the "toddler setting".
For a patch, the weavers need around 30 hours spread over several weeks.
